Family Law

WHAT ARE THE AREAS OF FAMILY LAW?

The office of Perlberger Law Associates, P.C. can help you in these main areas of family law:
  • Divorce
  • Equitable Distribution of Property
  • Child Custody
  • Support for Children and Spouses
  • Modifications of Support and Custody
  • Adoption
  • Grandparents’ Rights
  • Reconciliation Agreements
  • Prenuptial and Cohabitation Agreements
  • Arbitration
  • Mediation

HOW ARE FAMILY LAW AREAS RESOLVED? BASICALLY THEY ARE RESOLVED IN ONE OF FOUR WAYS:

MUTUAL AGREEMENT

Whether it’s the decision to amicably and simply part ways, or it involves another area of family law where the parties have come to mutual terms and they come up with their own agreement, sometimes all that is needed is an attorney to file the paperwork and perhaps draft an agreement.

In these cases, the office of Perlberger Law Associates is usually able to quote a flat fee.

ARBITRATION/MEDIATION

When parties want to avoid the cost, the delay and the formality of court, yet they want a neutral third-party to resolve their conflict and decide their case, Arbitration is their best bet.

Norman Perlberger, Esquire not only serves as an Arbitrator on cases, but he has participated in countless arbitrations (including many complex and high net worth cases) on behalf of his clients.

When the Parties want to control their own outcomes and decisions, on the other hand, but they need the help of a neutral third-party to get them to a place where they can do that, then Mediation is their most appropriate option.

Both Norman Perlberger, Esquire and Hanna Perlberger, Esquire are Certified Mediators in Family Law.

ATTORNEY-NEGOTIATED AGREEMENT

Whether it’s a collaborative effort, or the more traditional route of each party hiring an attorney, many divorces and other family law issues are able to be negotiated through attorneys and the parties are able to resolve their case by agreement and without the need for litigation and a court-imposed resolution. Norman Perlberger, Esquire and Hanna Perlberger, Esquire pride themselves on settling cases whenever possible, and their goal is to minimize fees, streamline the process and always serve the clients’ best interests.

LITIGATION

Lastly is the traditional route of litigation. While the office of Perlberger Law Associates, P.C. are staunch advocates for resolving divorce and other family law matters through arbitration and mediation, and while we strive and do our upmost best to settle cases whenever possible, sometimes there is simply no choice, and for various reasons, a party feels the need for a court-determined resolution.

When that happens, going through divorce can be one of the most stressful, painful (and costly) experiences a person can go through. In that case, the lawyer you want by your side is Norman Perlberger, who after forty years of experience, has earned the title, “Dean of Family Law”. Mr. Perlberger is the author of the prestigious Pennsylvania Divorce Code, co-author of Pennsylvania Family Law, and he is a Member of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.

In addition to being considered one of the top family-lawyers in Pennsylvania, Mr. Perlberger enjoys a nation-wide reputation and he is listed in Who’s Who of Lawyers, Best Lawyers in America, and Super Lawyers.
